DIA's Data Committee will return and meet at 6pm at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center. With Phase I data coming in from the Living Lab - and more and more available for external sources, come join up with data enthusiasts to maximize the insights for Phase I, and needs assessments for other parts of the city!
STEM Committee Meeting at 6pm at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center. We'll pick-up our conversation from last month surrounding ideas on how to build smart cities, IoT and data into programs for use in K-12 classes. Some of the ideas we're exploring include supporting DISD Maker Spaces; utilizing environmental and lighting data to talk about health and sustainability, and others, please join us!

The DIA's STEM Committee will next meet on Tuesday, June 6th at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center! We will hear from opening guest speakers and together, brainstorm the development of curriculum or modules integrating smart cities, IoT and future careers into schools in the DFW area. Snacks and beverages provided for sustinance, please join us!
The Dallas Innovation Alliance is planning a two day conference in conjunction with Earth Day Texas, focused on education and creating an aligned smart city strategy across Texas, and at the State level.
The event will partner with cities including Austin, Houston, San Antonio, smaller communities, and regional entities to educate on best practices, provide case studies from around the country to inspire, and develop priorities around a statewide strategy and policy initiatives.
Timing: April 20-21, 2017 at Fair Park
Attendees: Across city, county, state, regional entities, nonprofit sector, academic institutions and corporate partners.
Program Focus: Core areas of smart city education and collaboration in cities moving major initiatives forward, such as procurement, policy local/state/federal collaboration, as well as key smart city areas including energy, water, transportation, public safety and social equity.

Goals will be to determine project areas of focus to build data-based analysis and solutions. These topics do not need to be isolated to downtown Dallas, but rather to tackle areas of focus across the city.
